Why we treat it this way
Root canal treatment has a reputation far worse than its modern reality. With profound anaesthesia, rotary instrumentation and electronic length measurement, the visit feels closer to a long filling than to the ordeal people imagine. The pain patients remember is the infection before treatment, not the treatment.
We work under full rubber-dam isolation to keep the canals uncontaminated and document each stage radiographically. Afterwards we discuss protecting the tooth with a crown, because a root-treated tooth becomes more brittle.
